Our client in the GTA is seeking a Sr. Accountant.

Responsibilities:

Performing the accounting and financial analysis for parent, and subsidiary/affiliated corporations within the Company

• Accountable for continuously identifying risks relating to financial reporting and ensuring the appropriate internal controls are in place to mitigate key risk areas and are regularly monitored for effectiveness

• Make recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets and expenditures • Continuously drive efficiencies in accounting process to help create refined processes and procedures

• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies, manuals, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with internal, federal, or provincial, and local regulatory laws

• Document and monitor internal controls in support of auditing team

 

Qualifications:

Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, or a related field is required for this position • CPA, CGA, CA designation is required
• Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in a general accounting field and in developing spreadsheet and/or database applications for financial analysis and reporting
• 10+ years’ experience with policies and procedures governing accounts payable and receivable
