Responsibilities:

The CEO (Chief Executive Officer) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business, including setting strategic direction, making major decisions, managing operations, ensuring profitability of the company, acting as the primary point of contact between the board of directors, employees and the public.  The CEO will lead the company toward achieving its goals and vision while managing its overall resources and performance.

The incumbent must be able to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, make critical decisions, and navigate complex business challenges while driving overall company success. They must possess strong leadership skills, strategic thinking ability, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of business operations and a BA/MBA.

Our client in the GTA is seeking a Sr. Accountant.

Responsibilities:

Performing the accounting and financial analysis for parent, and subsidiary/affiliated corporations within the Company

• Accountable for continuously identifying risks relating to financial reporting and ensuring the appropriate internal controls are in place to mitigate key risk areas and are regularly monitored for effectiveness

• Make recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets and expenditures • Continuously drive efficiencies in accounting process to help create refined processes and procedures

• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies, manuals, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with internal, federal, or provincial, and local regulatory laws

• Document and monitor internal controls in support of auditing team

 

Qualifications:

Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, or a related field is required for this position • CPA, CGA, CA designation is required
• Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in a general accounting field and in developing spreadsheet and/or database applications for financial analysis and reporting
• 10+ years’ experience with policies and procedures governing accounts payable and receivable
